Musk says humanoid robots will need more RAM than any other application on Earth
Elon Musk, Tesla's chief executive, said on X that the RAM needs of humanoid robots will surpass those of any other application on Earth. He was responding to a Counterpoint Research analysis projecting that global DRAM demand for humanoid robots will rise from 8,300 terabits in 2026 to about 172,000 terabits in 2030, more than 20 times. Musk said the study falls short and added that superintelligence will require far more computing capacity.
