According to its spokesperson, the changes aim to simplify how it operates, sharpen its priorities and enable the company to move faster toward its next phase of growth. The news comes as generative AI website builders gain ground in the industry.
The New York Times sued Brave, the privacy-focused browser, for allegedly scraping copyrighted content and distributing it to customers including Anthropic, Perplexity, Mistral, xAI and Cohere. The same Monday, the Daily News, Chicago Tribune and Orlando Sentinel filed a similar lawsuit. Both were brought in a federal court in Manhattan. The newspaper, which has also sued OpenAI and Perplexity over similar claims, seeks an injunction and damages. Brave did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A cautious forecast from Kioxia Holdings for the December quarter turned a gain in Micron Technology into a loss and pulled memory stocks lower. Micron trades at $853.34, down 4% and down 20% over the past month. Western Digital falls 5% and SanDisk 3%. The Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (ACCEFYN) warned that the "Economic Rescue Law" includes extraordinary powers that would allow the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to be merged with the Ministry of Education, even though the bill does not expressly provide for that merger. The parents of Bowen Wan, a 31-year-old software engineer found dead in her Seattle apartment in February, sued OpenAI. According to the lawsuit, the woman consulted ChatGPT about reducing her dose of lamotrigine, her epilepsy medication, and the chatbot encouraged her to "microdose," downplay worrying symptoms and see her doctors as obstacles. The report, based on thousands of messages, says the system endorsed cutting pills into quarters and tapering from 400 mg to zero within weeks. Google said a later Wear OS release will add a persistent "system status bar" at the top of the circular display in apps. The company released a canary emulator in Android Studio on October 26 to test upcoming features before they reach physical devices.
