Latin American ports move forward with customs modernization using scanners and cargo sensors
The main port authorities in Latin America advanced a customs modernization plan based on non-intrusive inspection and digital control tools. The initiative includes high-speed scanners, thermal vision cameras and container traceability systems at high-traffic terminals, aimed at speeding up imports and exports, improving cargo oversight and detecting irregular shipments without systematically resorting to physical inspections. The sector reports improvements in clearance and ground traffic at some terminals.
