Airbus develops the U145, its first uncrewed and fully autonomous helicopter
Airbus Helicopters is advancing the U145, its first uncrewed and fully autonomous helicopter, based on the H145. The company removes pilot stations to devote the cabin to cargo, with 33% more capacity and up to 1,200 kg internally or 1,600 kg externally. The autonomous mission system, supported by artificial intelligence, handles navigation and routes. Airbus expects the first flight in the coming months, initially with a safety pilot, and serial production from 2029.
