Bogotá congressman Daniel Briceño told SEMANA, during Tech Day 2026 in Bogotá, that Colombia must create conditions to attract artificial intelligence companies rather than focusing only on regulation. He mentioned a bill filed in Congress to grant legal and tax stability for 15 or 20 years in exchange for investments, and called for more data centers, energy guarantees and better connectivity, with FUTIC funds allocated to that end.

40% of financial institutions report profitability gains thanks to artificial intelligence
A report on artificial intelligence adoption indicates that 40% of the financial institutions surveyed reported improvements in their financial results associated with the use of this technology, applied in operational processes, customer service, fraud detection and credit risk assessment. In Colombia, 81% of credit institutions use AI in their processes, according to the Financial Superintendence cited in the report. 55% of institutions still struggle to measure the value generated, a share that rises to 76% among large entities.
