WhatsApp scam alert: message asks users to vote for a child ballerina named Eliska who does not exist
A scam attempt has spread through WhatsApp with a message asking users to vote for a girl named Eliska so she can win a ballet class at a Prague academy. The text arrives from a contact in the address book and includes a malicious link to a website showing two supposed finalists. When users click to vote, the page requests a phone number and a verification code, which cybercriminals use to access the device, personal data and contacts. The images were generated with artificial intelligence.
