Two million producers and 48.6% of farms are smaller than three hectares

Nearly half of the country's agricultural units are smaller than three hectares, according to data reported by La República: 48.6% of farms fall in that range. By contrast, units between 500 and fewer than 1,000 hectares account for just 0.3%. The country has two million producers.
