S&P 500, Dow futures edge up before inflation data; bank results in focus

S&P 500 and Dow futures were slightly higher ahead of the release of inflation data, on a day when attention was also on bank earnings. The previous day, hotter-than-expected inflation sent the Nasdaq to a sharply lower close, amid worries about further Federal Reserve rate hikes.
