France extends curfews over unrest as 10-year bond yield tops 5%
French authorities extended partial curfews in Paris and Lyon for a third night to prevent looting and vandalism. Against that backdrop, the yield on the French 10-year bond crossed the 5% threshold to reach 5.08%, a 24-year record, and the spread over the German bond hit its highest level since 2011. The unrest left at least 3,000 businesses affected and more than 2,500 people detained.
