Chile holds meeting with United States on tariffs, seeks "pragmatic solution"
Chile's Undersecretary of International Economic Relations, Paula Estévez, met with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to follow up on bilateral negotiations over the 12.5% tariff surcharge on certain Chilean products. Estévez said the meeting helped reinforce Chile's position and reiterate that more products should be exempt; 53.6% of national shipments are currently exempt. Chile is seeking a "pragmatic solution" of mutual benefit.
